Night into Day, Dark into Light . . .


So many of you offered solace or insight at my recent post disclosing a patch of sadness I've been going through as a late-middle-aged mother and daughter. I'm happy to note that the breach in my relationship with one of my daughters (the element that had me identifying so strongly with the indignities of ageing my mother and MIL are suffering), has been repaired. Light, in other words, is back on the horizon, and hence these photos of a gorgeous sunrise, one that features a still-luminous sliver of moon.
I recognize that these metaphors verge on the trite, but that, I'd argue, is because they fit so well with the human condition that we can't resist them. Having lived in the dark, we rejoice in the light. And having experienced the continual cycling between the two, we gain a cautious wisdom that our lives will continue to move between the two.

I have learned a few things about Mothering adult children, things that pertain more generally to our role as elders (in the best sense of the word, I hope), and things that pertain particularly to my own insecurities and my strengths, to the adjustments I need and want to make at this stage of my life. Once I've sorted out which things are which, I hope to write something about that here, but meanwhile, I thought I'd just let you know that the daylight's shining 'round these parts again, for now. . .

It's been a goofily busy week work-wise (committee work -- did I mention that it never rains but it pours!), and Pater's working in Vancouver, so no one doing domestic support, sadly. Nor anyone manning the camera, so I'm not sure what, if anything, I'll come up with for What I Wore.
But the upcoming weekend, though also busy, will feature a granddaughter sleepover -- can't wait! I'll keep you post-ed (get it? a VERY bad pun!).

Piringan rem cakram depan yang berdiameter lebih besar dari bawaan pabrik memang cukup diminati para penggemar otomotif roda dua. Modifikasi untuk aliran seperti racing dan street fighter biasanya mengaplikasi piringan lebar. Terkadang juga digunakan untuk memudahkan melakukan aksi freestyle bagi para freestyler. Piringan cakram lebar dapat mendongkrak penampilan motor. Biasanya dijual plus adaptornya (adaptor digunakan untuk menggeser posisi master rem agar menjauhi sumbu roda). Harga nya pun bervariasi. Mulai dari 150 ribu hingga jutaan. Tergantung merek, diameter piringan dan kualitas bahan piringan. Contohnya piringan cakram lebar pada gambar di atas bermerek Yoshimura untuk motor bebek Honda (Revo 100cc, Karisma) seharga 300 ribu. Karena kualitas bahan cukup bagus. Piringan ini juga sekelas dengan merek PSM. Kelebihannya yaitu, tidak perlu mengganti velg dan mengganti bos atau as roda. Hanya tambah adaptor, langsung plug n play.

Tetapi, beberapa bikers ada yang mengeluh karena setelah memakai cakram jenis ini, Kemampuan rem depan malah berkurang. Padahal seharusnya dengan mengaplikasikan piringan jenis ini, pengereman menjadi lebih baik. Saya amati, itu dikarenakan oleh lubang baut adaptor piringan lebar yang terlalu jauh menggeser master rem. Sehingga bagian piringan lebar yang dapat dijepit kampas master rem kurang banyak. Hal ini tentu dapat diakali. Salah satunya dengan membuat lubang baru pada adaptor dengan cara dibor sehingga posisi master rem dapat disesuaikan. Setelah sesuai, tentunya fungsi pengereman rem depan dapat bekerja efektif.
Cara lain yaitu dengan memesan sendiri adaptor master rem agar posisinya pas dan pengereman dapat bekerja efektif. Jika posisi adaptor belum sesuai, percuma saja ganti piringan lebar.

Ini dia Si Gesit Irit yang makin gesit. “Si Gesit Irit” adalah tagline Suzuki Smash 110cc. Kali ini, aku mau berbagi info tentang cara meningkatkan performa Suzuki Smash. Beberapa tahun silam, Suzuki Smash disegani di ajang Road Race karena performanya yang memang gemilang. Telah terbukti bahwa dapur pacu Smash mudah dibuat kencang.

 
Cylinder Head & Cylinder Block
Blok mesin dapat dibore-up dengan memakai Piston Suzuki Thunder 125 berdiameter 57mm. Kapasitas mesinpun membengkak jadi 125cc. Piston dibubut 1,5mm dengan lebar 6mm dan bersudut 10derajat. Coakan klep diperdalam 1mm agar aman dari klep. Dibubut agar piston tidak membentur head. Intake manifold diperbesar menjadi 21mm. Tujuannya agar bensin yang tercampur dengan udara jumlahnya bisa lebih banyak dari sebelumnya.
Karburator
Karburator turut dirombak. Venturi direamer jadi 22mm. Pilot jet dan main jet masing-masing 17,5 dan 97,5
Pengapian
Agar torsi maksimum dapat diraih pada putaran mesin relatif rendah, dan rpm mesin bisa tinggi, waktu pengapian diubah jadi 15derajat sebelum Titik Mati Atas. Pick up yang ada di magnet digeser.
CDI :
ganti CDI dengan punya suzuki shogun 110 untuk mengatasi limiter pada CDI standart smash.

The New Honda VFR 1000 Continues to Taunt the Interweb 2011

As always, time will tell. However, there has been no indication so far from Honda that this might be true. There is speculation that the new VFR will see a bump in displacement to 1000cc, up from its current 782cc. The render looks clean, and influenced with Honda’s current design progression with the 1000cc CBR.

Now we have the latest image to hit the net, done by Vanjey Design. Fueling the fire, Honda has been keeping their cards close to their chest when it comes to the new VFR, which is rumored to come out in 2010.  News surrounding the new VFR have been swirling around the internet, with various concept drawing and CG renders making the course.
